- Establishing long shot of a road via drone sets one of the main scenes in the music video. After a few seconds, yellow text with the title of the music video 'PARANOID' and artist 'Post Malone pop up in the center of the screen. 0:00 - 0:12
- As the beat hits on the song, the shot changes to a close up shot on our main character, on the same path following the camera. He lip syncs the first line of the song "Never know when someone might come and take my life'. This instantly sets the theme and message of the video as the protagonist is paranoid and afraid of people out to get him and take his life. 0:13 - 0:16
- The next shot is a medium shot of the same character in his bedroom. This time the lyrics closely follow up what is shown on screen with the main character asleep in his bed with a pistol on his bedside table 'I been sleeping with the .44 like every night'. The camera slowly pulls away from the MC as the scene progresses into the next scene. 0:16 - 0:19
- The video then cuts back to the same shot of the main character on the road, but this time he is being slowly followed by a mysterious car (assumed to be his pursuers) . 'In the whip I pray to God I don't see flashing lights God damn they right behind me' 0:20 - 0:24.
- The video cuts back again to the bedroom scene where our main character is seen in a montage of awaking (following the lyrics) 'And I wake up everyday, I wake up everyday with this anxiety' Again this shot is similar to the previous bedroom shot but focused on the bed and our main character instead of the pistol on the table. 0:24 - 0:30
- This next scene follows the lyrics 'And they know where I stay Got "Malone" on my plates And they following me'. The scene starts with a close up of the house and then quickly cuts to a man using binoculars to spy on our main character. The classic action of using binoculars to spy on people, exaggerates how the main character is feeling and shows how paranoia can amplify even the littlest fears. 0:30 - 0:36.
