- The Neolithic agricultural revolution began around 10,000 BC. Innovations of that time were the domestication of plants and animals. This caused people to opt for a more sedentary lifestyle.
- The British agricultural revolution began during the 18th century. Innovations of that time were farming methods such as crop rotation and selective breeding, and farming machinery such as the seed drill, threshing machine, and cotton gin. Many believe this revolution to be the cause, or thing that led into the industrial revolution.
- The green revolution started in the 1940s, but had the most effect during the 1960s-70s. Some innovations of that time were hybrid seeds, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers. Although many benefited from these innovations, the effect on the surrounding ecosystem was immense.
