  • The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that occurred between a Patriot and Loyalist/ Soldier mob. The patriots started to throw snowballs, sticks, and stones. A squad of British soldiers were enraged and several colonists were killed by the havoc and confusion. This led to rage between the colonies and they started to over exaggerate the event, giving it the name of the Boston Massacre, as according to speech writers, many colonists were killed.
  • The Stamp Act
  • The Stamp Act is a rule which all colonies have to follow, people in colonies must buy paper products with a special stamp on it to prove it has been taxed fairly.
  • Hear ye hear ye, I come from England, bearing news of the King. The Stamp Act has been passed.
  • The Boston Tea Party was an event for which the colonists were fighting for their freedom and rights to make their own decisions about their own lives and choices. Colonists decided to protest the Tea Act which disabled colonists to make their own decisions about the type of tea they could drink and at what price it was. They protested it by throwing hundreds of boxes of tea over the ship. Doing that they also a=effectively closed down the Boston Harbor, preventing other tea shipments to come.
  • French and Indian War
  • The colonists, who were settling into their new lives as farmers and tobacco growers were realizing that they severely needed help around the farms, they also knew that it wasnt easy for them to afford maids or servants. So, the solution to that was build an effective trade route with Africa, where slaves could be easily traded for various goods from their homeland, in this case tobacco. Although some colonists, most unfortunately were for slavery.

  • The Stamp Act was a rule which all colonies had to follow, where people in the various colonies had to buy paper products iwth a special stamp issued on them, to prove it had been properly taxed. This was to pay off the war debt caused by the French and Indian War, however Colonists were against this as for one, the taxes could be very expensive and un affordable, they were also against the Stamp Act as they did not have a say in which taxes were issued or not, they didnt have representation in Parliament, causing outrage, which in turn caused the saying "No taxation without representation"
  • Follow this rule, or consequences will be severe.
  • The French and Indian War was the war between the French and Indians, who were allies at the time and the colonies and the British army. This war was fought over the territory between the Appalachian Mountains, which were farther out West and were also partly Native American territory. The French and Indians teamed up in exchange for the majority of territory while the British supported the colonists as they were also British citizens although they were in America, or what was referred to as the colonies, although the colonies won, they came out with a massive war debt.

  • The shot heard around the world was the first shot of the battle of Lexington and Concord, no one knows which side it was fired by. However, it was called the shot hear around the world because it signaled the fight for freedom between every country and every kind of person. Since it was fired it has been known as the "mascot" of freedom and as the sign to fight for your rights like the first colonists of America did against the British.
