  • The Journey of a Sperm
  • Hello Everyone, Today we will be learning about the Reproductive System!
  • Females have ovum, or eggs stored in their ovaries that travel into the uterus through the oviduct in a process called menstruation.
  • In males sperm is produced in the testes and is stored in the Epididymis.
  • Sperm can live for up to 3-5 days in the uterus, so there's also a possibility she might become pregnant afterwards.
  • If a woman were to have sexual intercourse during the firtle time during her menstruation period (roughly 6 days long) she could become pregnant.
  • Sperm enters the oviduct by fighting its way through the vagina, cervix and uterus, which has many obstacles - very few make it to the egg.
  • Once the egg is fertilised it will make the rest of its journey down the oviduct until it reaches the uterus lining where it will cling on and prepare for growth.
  • The fetus will then spend the next nine months developing into a functioning human being.
  • And thats how the Reproductive system works (for the most part)!
  • That's all for today, see you next week!
