- Beowulf hears about Grendel's aggression and decides to help the Danes. Beowulf and his men sailed to the Danes.
- Beowulf and his men resting
- Beowulf with his men arrives at Herot and meets the King of Danes, Hrothgar.
- Grendel then arrive in the mead hall
- Heorot is filled for a large feast in the honor of Beowulf. Hrothgar and his followers at the banquet

- After the banquet is over, Beowulf and his men are sleeping in the mead hall.

- Grendel then arrives at Heorot hungry for flesh. Beowulf watches carefully as Grendel eats one of his men. Beowulf fakes sleep while this is happening and then Grendel approaches
- When Grendel reaches for Beowulf, Beowulf grabs Grendel's arm and doesn't let go. Grendel is in pain as Beowulf grips him. Grendel runs away, leaving his arm in Beowulf's grasp. Grendel slinks back in his lair in the moors and dies.
