- My Cousin and I decided to go on a walk to a field so we could see the flowers.
- On our way, we stopped at a small area and saw some flowers. My cousins asked me how flowers stay alive and how they work, so I told her it was because of photosynthesis. My cousin then asked me what photosynthesis is.
- Once we got to the field I explained to her that Photosynthesis is How plants use sunlight to make energy and food. The equation for it is 6Co2+6H2O--C6H12O6+6O2.
- She asked me to explain it more so I told her what a Light Dependent reaction is and a Light Independent reaction is. and i told her about how a dependent reaction is when light energy is turned into chemical energy which is called ATP and is located in the thylakoid membrane. A light independet reaction is when it turns into a series of biochemical reactions and it does not need energy. Independent is located in the stroma.
- She then asked me where most of this happens i told her ¨thats the chloroplast it allows the plants to capture the energy of the sun in energy-rich molecules.
- Wait one more question before we leave my cousin asked ¨How do they get their color´ I told her ¨thats the chlorophyll it makes the plant green or whatever color it is. it helps plants make food in photosynthesis also.¨
