  • Haha, Don't make me laugh, it really becomes simple once you see an example. If you look at the board you can see polyethene. It is simply made of multiple ethenes where the double bond breaks as carbon-carbon bonds are formed. Ethene is an alkene with the formulaC2H4but interstingly enough polyethene is actually an alkane because all the double bonds are broken and the molecule becomes saturated

  • Polyethene is a key component in plastic bags, bottles, and packaging. Polymers as you've learned by now are very useful and I'm glad I could fuel your curiosity.
