  • Namaste students today we will be comparing the GDP of Sikkim and Delhi.First we have Delhi,Delhi is one of the fastest-growing states in the country. At current prices, the advance estimate of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Delhi stood at Rs 9.23 trillion (US$ 123.90 billion) in 2021-22. The state’s GSDP (in Rs.) increased at a CAGR of 8.89% between 2015-16 and 2021-22.
  • Also Among all the states, Delhi has the largest share of skilled workforce, making it suitable for knowledge-based economic activities such as IT/ITeS, designing, RD and financial services.
  • In the case of Sikkim however,The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Sikkim expanded at a CAGR of 12.66% between 2015-16 and 2020-21.As of March 2022, Sikkim had a total installed power generation capacity of 743.36 MW, of which 117.57 MW was under central utilities, 412.11 MW was under state utilities and 213.68 MW was under the private sector. Of the total installed power generation capacity, 53.57 MW was contributed by thermal and 56.79 MW by renewable energy.
  • Total merchandise exports from Sikkim stood at US$ 16.89 billion in FY22 (until February 2022) and US$ 9.36 billion in FY21. Drug formulations, biologicals, medical and scientific instruments, cereal preparations and miscellaneous processed items accounted for a majority share in the overall exports from the state. In FY22 (Until February 2022), total exports of drug formulation products from Sikkim stood at US$ 11.27 million (~67%).
