- Is when Oedipus realizes his real parentage. Then later on the second messenger came in and says queen Jocasta is dead.
- I pitied it, and thought i could send it off to another country. But he saved it for the most terrible troubles. If you are the man he says you are, you were born to misery.
- O,O,O, Light of the sun, let me look upon you no more. Cursed is my life.
- Jocasta hung herself, and Oedipus blinded himself with her dress pins.
- Unfortunate women! How?
- By her own hands! Then Oedipus tore the brooches from her and lifted them up high and dashed them into his own eyeballs and while he was doing her he was yelling things out saying he is doing that so nobody can see the crime he did and he kept struck his eyes.
- The chorus ends the episode by stating that Oedipus is blind, poor, and banished.
- Oedipus, I've come not to jeer at you not taunt you with your past actions. Come inside. You should not be made a public spectacle.
- Creon, most noble spirit, I have treated you so badly. Yet I beg you.
