- After beginning his public ministry, Jesus returned to Nazareth, and went into the Synagogue on the Sabbath.
- Jesus stood at the front of the synagogue and read from the scroll of the Prophet Isiah, announcing that He is the Messiah.
- At first all the people were amazed by Jesus and what he had said. Then they realized he was Joseph's son.
- Then they questioned why He did all these miracles for other towns but never helped them. They we furious with Him.
- Jesus told them that prophets are never sent to help their home towns.
- The people were so mad they drove him out to a cliff to be thrown off.
- Despite the mob surrounding Him, Jesus was able to walk right through them and be on His way.
