  • Mary Warren was called to be a person of authority at court for the witch trials and when Elizabeth's name was brought up, she cleared her as innocent. This means that Mary Warren saved Elizebth from being prosecuted in jail.

  • In this scene, Reverend Hale enters the Proctor's house and starts questioning the Proctor's beliefs in Christianity to prove that they're not witches. He asks Proctor to recite the ten commandments which he could do but so conveniently forgot one, adultery.

  • In this exact scene, Reverend Hale finds a poppet in the Proctor's house and when he lifts up the skirt he realizes that the poppet has a needle in it, in the exact place Abigail had a needle. This is what made people believe that Elizabeth was a witch since the poppet was believed to be hers.
