there are many different colors of fish, like these orange and sand colored fish. In this scenario, the sand colored fish have an advantage, this is because they camoflauge with the sand around them. Compared to the orange fish that stand out in the sand and water.
this makes the predators around them, in this case sharks able to find the orange fish easier as they stick out due to their bright colors.
This leads to the orange fish producing less offspring overall dropping the numbers of orange fish in this environment,
for this reason, many orange fish tend to lurk around colorful habitats, such as coral reefs. In these areas, the orange fish have cover in the coral as it is filled with color and diversity making them hard to spot.
so when predators come into their habitat, the gold fish go straight for the coral as it hides them. This leaves the sand colored fish out in the open and easy to spot in midst of all the colors, This effect leads to the sand colored fish population to be very low in these coral reefs and the goldfish population to thrive.
