  • I can't believe we still have to fight for our rights
  • Marsha! Can we get an interview?
  • This is super important.
  • We want rights for every member of the LGBTQI+ community!
  • Everyone deserves rights!
  • End police brutality against gay people!
  • I need to be doing something more; people are throwing rocks
  • Derealization: sees date on newspaper and can't believe that rights still need to be fought for. Nervous, angry, upset. Shaking and realizing something must be done.
  • This must be stopped!
  • Interview: introduce name (Marsha P. Johnson) and cause. Introduces self and feels passionate as she explains why she is at the riot.
  • WOOOH!
  • This is not right and something must be done!
  • Arrives at Stonewall. Feels anger swelling. Finds good friend Sylvia Rivera and starts participating. Very upset but feels good to be doing something.
  • Should I start an organization?
  • Marsha! I've been looking for you
  • Smells pavement and listens to the crowd. Feels that she must do something more
  • She picks up a rock and feels the weight in her hand as she begins to throw it. Her mind goes back to all the injustice she and many others have experienced and she throws it with all her might.
  • Marsha is still reeling from the force she through the rock with. She comes to the realization that this is something that is important to her and that she must speak out for LGBTQIA+ rights.
