  • Before the Revolution (1754-1788): The things that were happening before the French Revolution were unjust taxes, poor economy and starvation. (There were also a bunch of new ideas because of the era of Enlightenment.) All of these things are significant for the future of France/Europe because they sparked the light of the revolution, all these things were reasons for it.

  • The Estates General (1789): The Estates General was mainly called because of the poor economy and it made a lasting impact on the future of France/Europe because it marked the beginning of the French Revolution.

  • Tennis Court Oath (1789): The Tennis Court Oath happens because the 3rd estate was going to discuss the Constitution but the doors to the meeting place were locked. This was impactful for France/Europe because it gave people a feeling that they could change things but it also showed people who were previously against the revolution how little the government cared.

  • Raid to the Bastille (1789): The Raid to Bastille happens because Louis XVI felt threatened by the revolution and decided to send troops. So the revolutionist's decided to raid the Bastille. This was very impactful for the future of France/Europe because it gave hope to the commoners that they could rise up against injustice.

  • The National Assembly (1789): The National Assembly overthrows king Louis XVI but we're so weak they began to use fear as a method of controlling revolutionary thoughts (Later becoming the Reign of Terror). This was impactful for the future of France/Europe because it later led to the Napoleonic Era and demonstrated that you need to have a plan for your future government

  • Napoleonic Era (1799-1815): The Napoleonic Era was caused by the Directory being so unpopular after all the things that happened in the Age of Terror which was incredibly impactful for the future of France because by then the people were just tired of everything and let Napoleon lead. This is also impactful since Napoleon later won many wars against many european countries.
