The Raid
John Brown was an abolitionist who was loyal in trying to end slavery. He was willing to go to war with the South to allow slaves to be free and be treated equally. John Browns opinion on wanting to free slaves was a major role in starting the Civil War. This event occured in Harpers Ferry, Virginia in 1859.

John Brown you are found guilty. You will be assassinated on December 2.

Assassination
John Brown and his soldiers took both bridges to go to Harpers Ferry. After hours of fighting John Brown and survivors were sent to jail. He and the others with him were tried for treason against the state of Virginia. On October 27, John Brown found out he was going to be hung on December 2 in Charles Town, Virginia.
