Once Hellen knew the word water, she could understand the connection between the word water and itself. Once, she started understanding words, she started understanding the world around her. All because of Annie Sullivan. Also, after the water incidence, she learned 30 new words in just some hours.

She soon learned to read. To read, she had to touch tiny dots on the paper to identify the words shapes. So, if the shape is like an A, she would say A. She even learned to type using braille and typewriters.

Annie became Helen's companion and teacher. Together, they continued Keller's studies at Massachusetts and New York City. In 1904, Helen graduated from Radcliffe College. Becoming the first deaf and blind student to graduate.
She became a celebrated deaf and blind author. She started writing books using brailles and things. In her lifetime she wrote 12 books. She learned to read and write in 5 different languages.
Helen and Annie toured the world telling their story to everyone.

But, sadly Annie Sullivan died in 1936. It was a really sad moment for Helen Keller. But, Keller carried on.
