I am so sorry my king. This is very wrong of me to do but I must to secure my crown title.
Lady Macbeth welcomes the king in to her castle. She welcomes him as she wants him to be comfortable even though there is where he will die. She doesn't raise suspicion by doing this and acting all friendly towards him.
The servants and the people who are supposed to guard the castle have fallen asleep. This was a result of lady Macbeth giving them something in their food and drinks for them not to be conscious. This was all to help her plan in deciding the king's fate.
Macbeth ultimately gives into the wishes of his wife and decides to kill the king. By doing this Macbeth gave into the greed and the want for more power. As in killing the king will secure his power and the crown.
