- The Law of April, 6 1830 stopped immigration from the United States to Texas, suspended most empresario contracts, placed taxes on imported goods that came from the USA. The law also encourage d immigration from Mexico and Europe, and no more slaves can be brought into Texas. Texans were not happy with the Mexicans. They thought the Law of 1825 was better than the current law.
