To find the height, we need to measure the height of your eyes to the floor, the distance from the pole to yourself, and the angle of elevation
I know my eye height is 1.87 meters, so i am going to have the find the other heights.
I have finished measuring all the lengths we need and I can tell you that the distance from the tree to myself is7.2 me-tres and the angle of elevation is 67 degrees
Awesome, now I can help you out!
If one has the adjacent length (7.2)and has to workout the opposite length (x), that means you have to use the tangent ratio.
So, tan(67) = x/7.2. If I multiply both sides by 7.2,that means 7.2tan(14) = x ! So that means x = 17.0 to 1decimal place. Adding my height on means 17.0 + 1.67 =18.67 which rounded off to the nearest decimal place is 18.7 metres
So it is about 18.7 meters tall! Thank you so much for helping me!
Not a problem! Time to go play another game, wanna join?
Of course!
