Lincoln's Inaugural Addresses spoke on behalf of all Union members and African Americans. The abolishment of slavery was arguably the biggest step in the right direction for civil rights but that was just the beginning of a very long process of slowly gaining rights.
Children getting a right to their education shouldn't even be a question, but overtime, less and less people agreed that some children deserve better education than others, even depending on race. The battles for rights became shorter and shorter.
"Freedom" now is just trusting people in media to keep us safe and to maintain our privacy. We now though are so addicted and attached to our phones though that we all are trapped. Do do have the freedom to prevent it though. So are we really stuck? Freedom is now a choice.
