  • Solid Particles are set in a fixed position where they barely move at all. They do not form to anything because the particles don't move a lot. For water particles turn into a solid at -27C.
  • Deposition
  • Liquid Particles in less of a fixed position than the solid. They will form to whatever they are in because of there ability to move around. For water molecules, liquids will turn into solids unless they are above 13C, but if it gets too hot the particles begin to evaporate.
  • Sublimation
  • Gas particles are very spread out and they move very quick. This is because of the temperature of the particle, for example a solid water particle is -127C. While in a gas it is 156C. Gas particles also have a high amount of kinetic energy because they move around so fast and so much.
  • The End
  • Deposition is when a gas goes directly to a solid and skips the liquid state of matter. For example, water vapor can turn directly in to ice without becoming a liquid.
  • Sublimation is when a solid goes directly to a gas and skips the liquid state of matter. For example, dry ice is a piece of matter the skips the intermediate liquid phase.
  • This ice is dry. It must be dry ice.
