  • The sugar acts put harsh taxes on things such as sugar and molasses.The british believed the colonists should have to help pay back the debts from the french and indian wars. The colonists were not violent but this did caused many hardships. 
  • Declaratory Act 1766
  • we now have full power over the colonies and government!!
  • This act required colonists to house take care of and feed british soldiers. The british thought since the soldiers protected them they had to house them . Colonists protested they feel there rights were violated.
  • Townshend acts 1767

  • This required for the colonists to buy special stamps for most paper goods. They british believed that they colonists should help pay for the people protecting them. The colonists protest and boycotted these products.

  • We won't let your tea into our colonies leave it on our docks if you must.
  • This act stated parliament had full control over the colonies. British believed the had power to legislate colonies in any case whatsoever.The colonies become upset because the british had control over the colonial government. This also allowed parliament to give more taxes.
  • This act is when britain only put taxes brought into the colonies it also formed the writs of assistance. The wrists of assistance made it so any england soldier or authorised person could inspect your home,ship, or any personal area with out reason. The colonist were angry because england thought they wouldn't notice the new taxes. They became more angry and countiend to boycott.

  • The tea acts made it so the colonies can only by from a british east india company. This angered the colonist because of the monopoly colonists the did not allow the tea into the colonies and left it on the docks. This is what led to the boston tea party.
