  • We sailed to Jamestown, the new world. We are very excited, some people are sick on the ship but thats normal. We have high hopes for what is coming. We will find lots of gold and make friends with the indians. John Smith was locked under the boat, he was writing most of the time. We came to Virginia for gold, we will come back as rich men.
  • We arrived at Jamestown and I was so excited to find gold and start a new life in the new world. We started taking supplies out of the boat. We had food and water, which should last us a long time. We wanted to be friends with the Native Americans. We started panning for gold to bring back to England for our king. We set off to an area and starting looking.
  • We started panning for gold, there was no sign of the native americans. We had no luck finding gold. It was exhausting work, we were over-heated and dehydrated. It was back breaking work, and it made us question if it was worth it to come over here. We've already lost a few men and I feel as if someone is watching us. We will keep panning
  • One of our men got shot by a native american. We are scared for our lives now. We built a base with 600 logs and hid in there. We are losing more people by the day to famine, disease and even the native americans. We are constantly in fear for our lives, and the disease doesn't help, and all of our best men are dead.
  • Our leader went and tried to make allies with the native americans. He gaves them all of our jewels and gems for peace between us. They helped us in return. John met Pocahontas, and she helped him a lot. Things seemed to be turning around but we were still rapidly losing men to starvation. The new world is not what it seems, it is full of sickness of death. John Smith, John Rolfe, and Pocahontas saved us by starting to contribute tobacco, leaving us with a stable source of money. We still had our base.
  • John Smith, John Rolfe and Pocahontas saved us, everything is turning around. We faced hardship because of the lack of food and disease travelling around. We lost many of our people. It has been hard but we are finding solutions to save the few of us that are left. We are able to eat now. The native americans helped us a lot. We aee very thankful. We have tabacco plants.
