- Cellular respiration is ametabolic pathway that breaks down glucose and produces ATP. The stages of cellular respiration include glycolysis,pyruvate oxidation, the citric acid or Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation.
- What is the process for photosynthesis?
- The light-dependent cycle creates ATP and NADPH by using water and sunlight. The Calvin cycle creates ADP and NADP+ from CO2, ATP, and NADPH. It also creates sugar.
- So both of these are really important?
- Yes! Heterotrophs use cellular respiration, but not photosynthesis and autotrophs use both. Heterotrophs get food by eating other organisms and autotrophs can't.
