- In a book holes the protagonist Stanley Yelnats is sent to a camp because of the antagonist his family's curse.

- The conflict of the story happens when the Yelnats family is cursed because of the very first Yelnat. He carried the pig up the mountain, but not Madam Zeroni so she put a curse on him.

- The rising action happens when Stanley tries to steal the water truck and drive away from camp.
- denouement
- The climax happens when Stanley carries Zero up the mountain and sings to him which breaks the family curse.
- The story is resolved when it rains at Camp Green Lake, and the lawyer takes Stanley and Zero home.
- The happily ever after is when the long lost treasure goes back to the Yelnats Family, and they share it with Zero to help him find his mom.
