  • Gilgamesh the mighty, Gilgamesh the tyrant, Gilgamesh the resented of Uruk. The people of this mighty city hated their tyrannical ruler. He stole brides from their grooms and overworked the poor masses. The gods looked toward Uruk as the demands to do something about this outrageous man became louder and louder!
  • The god Anu created Enkidu, a wild man from the uplands and a match for Gilgamesh. Enkidu sought Gilgamesh upon hearing of his misdeeds in Uruk, though he would not expect to find a friend in this giant of a man.
  • Enkidu confronted Gilgamesh and so they fought in the roads of Uruk. After a hard-fought battle, they came to respect each others' strength and soon a friendship grew between these mighty heroes. Together they vowed to accomplish many mighty tasks.
  • The two companions made their way to the Forest of Cedar where they fought with the great Humbaba. With the help of the sky god Shamash, they prevented him from donning his terrible seven cloaks and threatening Uruk with his limitless power.
  • The gods decided to punish Enkidu for his transgressions in the Cedar Forest. Though they had vanquished a great evil, they were scorned for their wrathfulness. Enkidu saw them arguing in his dreams and it frightened him greatly. He knew his days would soon be over.
  • The death of his greatest companion left Gilgamesh alone in the world. As he became a wanderer of many lands, his grief began to turn his focus toward his own mortality. He then set out on his most perilous and daunting journey yet: To find the secret of Immortality in the realm of Utnapishtim.
