  • Circe, the enchantress, with her magical spell,captured his heart and made it swell.
  • "She swore at once... I entered Circe's flawless bed of love."
  • " 'We two shall mingle and make love upon our bed. So that mutual trust may come of play and love.' "
  • " 'I mount no bed of love with you upon it. Or swear me first a great oath, if I do, you'll work no more enchantment to my harm' "
  • Then, bound to his boat, Odysseus longed to chase after the sirens’ song.
  • Circe warned Odysseus and his men about the sirens before they left. She told Odysseus that if he wanted to listen to them, then he must be tied down to the ship, and his men must plug their ears so that they do not hear it and lose their hope of home.
  • After twenty years away from home, he circled back to his wife and son, who he had left on their own.
  • After years upon years of pain, suffering, and loss (none of his men made it), Odysseus is overjoyed to return to his roots- his home. He disguises himself as a beggar in order to scope out the situation before jumping in. There, he reunites with his son, but he has yet to reveal himself to his wife.
