- Beowulf and his men think they have achieved their victory, however they learn of a new threat, Grendel's mother
- Road Back
- Beowulf defeats Grendel's mother by entering her underwater lair and using the sword given by Unferth to kill her
- Atonement
- As his reward, King Hrothgar bestows immense riches upon Beowulf for saving their civilization.
- Return
- Upon Beowulf's return, he is given the throne by Hrothgar, which he accepts, and then rules for 50 years.
- After 50 years of rule, Beowulf is again needed, he is sent to courageously fight a dragon, which he defeats, but gets bitten and poisoned.
- Beowulf's body and treasure were buried by his men on a funeral pyre overlooking the sea. He dies as a hero, and his story lives on.
