  • Francisco Vasquez de Coronado was looking for the seven cities of gold. . . but found the grand canyon.
  • This isn't the fountain of youth.
  • Cabrillo was supposed to meet Coronado when he was attacked by natives. He fell on a rock and broke his shin. It eventually got infected and he died on January 3, 1543, without finding gold.
