  • On Monday may 14th, 1804 Lewis and Clark set out on their journey that would last 2 years, 4 months, and 10 days with many goals. The goals were to Collect information about the land, find new animals and plants, find sites were forts could be built, and to find a water route from North America to Asia.
  • Rivers
  • They met Sacagawea in what's modern day North Dakota. She was pregnant and was not supposed to come with them, but her husband Charbonneau who Lewis and Clark hired as a interpreter and guide insisted she come along which would benefit Lewis and Clark.
  • Discovery of the cranberry

  • Lewis and Clark discovered the Bull Snake. They found it on August 5th, 1804
  • The journey home
  • Lewis and Clark expedition used rivers to travel a lot. They explored a lot of major modern day rivers like the Mississippi and Ohio rivers.
  • Lewis and Clark discovered the cranberry. They found it on February 20th, 1806.
  • Lewis and Clark started their journey home on March 23rd, 1806. They traveled along rivers, they eventually split into 2 groups and later reunited. During the split Lewis's group ran into the first encounter where they had to use violence against Native Americans.
