- Each morning, Guru Nanak went to wash himself at a nearby river. One day, Nanak did not return back home.
- After two days, Nanak's family went to check the nearby river in hopes to find him but they only found his clothes and assumed he drowned
- Three days later, Guru Nanak returned to his family!
- After returning to his family, he claimed that "there is neither Hindu nor Muslim" He told them that he met with the almighty and was instructed to become a great leader.
- For the next two and a half decades, Nanak travelled all over, as far as the city of mecca, preaching his message of divine Oneness.
- Wherever Guru Nanak went, he was able to attract large crowds and have people follow him around trying to learn from him and listen to him.
