- To gain support to ratify all these changes, I propose a set of papers. These papers will explain our choices, for example one will discuss how we balanced the power in the government by creating three separate branches. They will be called the Federalist Papers.
- To start we must allow freedom. Freedom of religion, speech, press, and to peacefully assemble. (2)
- People’s property cannot be search without probable cause. Also excluding the military a jury must be present for trials and no one can be forced to incriminate themselves. (4)
- People will have the right to be armed to protect themselves and to refuse to house soldiers. (3)
- In our haste to leave, we had forgone creating a Bill of Rights, which has now become necessary. (1)
- During trials, there shall be an impartial jury and the accused may have a witness. Any suits exceeding $20 with nothing tried, shall be reexamined. People may also not be extorted or given any excessive punishments. (1)
- One’s rights may also not be taken away, and anything that falls outside the central government jurisdiction shall fall to the state or people. (2)
