  • You are under arrest!
  • Peak climbed up the Woolworth building in New York City in order to create mystery. As he neared the top a helicopter descended upon him. Upon reaching the top he was instructed to "Take the rope" (Smith 5).
  • After being taken to the Juvenile detention center Peak's mother comes to visit him. She told him that he is facing three years in JDC (Juvenile Detention Center). She also informed him of a boy who died climbing a similar building, inspired by Peak's story (Smith 15).
  • Josh!!!
  • Peak goes to trial to receive his sentence. When he arrives he is surprised to see someone he hasn't seen in seven years; His father. Peak's dad offers to make Peak "disappear" by taking him to Thailand. The Judge agrees and Peak questions Josh's motives (Smith 23).
  • When Holly arrives at camp Peak quickly realizes that she is going to be "a pain in the crevice". She brings along with her a personal massage therapist and chef. Her shrill voice encompasses anyone unfortunate enough to cross her path. Luckily for Peak she is easy to spot and avoid. He hides from her whenever possible (Smith 94).
  • I miss Peak!
  • Rolf Cares about me
  • When Peak receives letters from his family he instantly feels guilty. Until he was handed the letters he had not payed them much thought. Peak has another realization that only makes the situation worse. If letters from his family could make it up to camp that means that Josh (Peak's dad) received all or most of the letters that Peak had sent in the past. As Peak reads the letter from Josh he thinks to himself "Not 'we.' I miss you. I want you home. With these two sentences he had done more for me than Josh had ever done or could ever do" (Smith 125).
