chapter 6If they keep fighting their class mates then they could get expelled from school. The purpose of this imagery is to show us how much trouble they are in and how much they fight other kids.
chapter 6 Their father was furious and yelled at them for fighting in school. He warned them if they continue to fight they will be throwing away their chance of a future scholarship. An example of imagery on pages 39 & 40 is when they say "I know in Sudan you had to fight or they would keep beating you day after day." this shows imagery by telling us how violent it is were they used to live.
chapter 6Jake and his gang tried to fight Tewolde but then Kawaun's brothers showed up to save Tewolde from the gang. They scared away Jake and his gang. These pages show imagery when they say "We knew Jake had it (a switchblade) because we had seen him practice with it, setting up targets near Traingle Park, hitting dead center almost every time" This shows imagery by showing us that Jake is very threatening and knows how to use the switchbalde.
