- Dorothy is a young girl who lives in a one-room housein Kansas with the care-worn Uncle Henry and Aunt Em and herdog, Toto. A sudden cyclone strikes, and, by the time Dorothy catches Toto, sheis unable to reach the storm cellar. They are still in the house when thecyclone carries it away for a long journey.

- After hours of flying they finally landed, Dorothyfinds that she is in a beautiful land inhabited by very short, strangelydressed people. The good Witch of the North informs her that she is in theland of the Munchkins, who are grateful to her for having killedthe Wicked Witch of the East when the house having landed on the witch.thus, freeing them. The Witch of the North gives Dorothy the silver shoes ofthe dead witch and advises her to go to the City of Emeralds to see the Great Wizard Oz to get her back to Kansas

They come across various problems but they overcome them togheter

- The wicked witch of the west captures Dorothy and Toto and destroy the scarecrow and the tin woodman. The witch wants Dorothy’s shoes, which she knows carry powerful magic.She contrives to make Dorothy trip and fall, so she can grab one of the shoes. Theangered Dorothy throws a bucket of water at the witch, who then melts away tonothing. Dorothy frees the Cowardly Lion and engages the help of the now freeWinkies in repairing and rebuilding the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow, and thefriends return to Oz

- They all came bact to Oz. Ozdoes not summon them for several days, and, when he does admit them into hispresence, he seems to grant their wishes. Toto knocks over a screen, revealingthat Oz is only a common man However,he fills the Scarecrow’s head with brain and pins and needles, saying that theyare brains he puts a silk-and-sawdust heart into the Tin Woodman and he givesthe Cowardly Lion a drink that he says is courage. He and Dorothy make aballoon to carry them out of the Land of Oz, but the balloon flies away beforeDorothy can board
- Oz suggested dorothy that she can got to the good witch south to take her back to Kansas they went through alot of danger but the power of teamwork helped them to overcome. Glindaasks to Dorothy to give the golden cap and she summons the Winged Monkeys sothat they can take the Tin Woodman back to rule the Winkies, the Scarecrow backto Emerald City, and the Cowardly Lion to the forest to be king of the beasts.Then she tells Dorothy how to use the silver shoes to take her back to Kansas.Dorothy pick up Toto, clicks her heels together three times, and says, Take mehome to Aunt Em She is caried out of the desert to the new house in Kansas.
