  • The motif of rotting and decay is found in one of the final scenes where the royal family all dies and the castle is being stormed. This symbol showcases the moral decay of the characters. The poison in the scene serves also as a use of imagery to emphasizes the corrupted institutions. Shakespeare also uses this to show his characters complexities through their moral decaying throughout the play.
