- After India was free from Britain, there was a debate whether or not India would be separated into two countries. This family faced hard challenges in order to find their new home.
- CLIMAX
- This story took place in the year 1947 in India. Free from Britain, India's leaders Nehru and Jinnah chose to separate India into two countries; Pakistan, and India. The Hindus and Sikhs had to go to the new India while the Muslims went to Pakistan. Nisha's father was Hindu, so they had to leave their home with Kazi, who was Muslim.
- FALLING ACTION

- Nisha's Family had to travel by foot because many people had been killed on the train. They all had their belongings and food in their bags. They were also carrying big jugs of water. Amil was starting to get uncomfortable.
- RESOLUTION

- Nisha and her family met her uncle. They stayed at his house to rest and gain their energy. Nisha found her uncle very odd. He didn't speak, and she thought his face was strange.

- Nisha's family had to leave Rashid Uncle's house because Nisha and Amil introduced themselves to a Muslim girl named Hafa. Both Nisha and Amil thought that the three of them would become friends, but their father caught them and they had to leave because he thought they were in danger.

- Nisha and her family arrived at their new home. Kazi had followed them because he saw them as his family even though he is Muslim. He was very tired after the long journey, so Nisha and Amil had to take him to their apartment.
