The British decided they were going to start taxing the colonists. The British taxed the colonists on china, lead, glass, paper, tea, and paint.
Boycotts
More than 2,000 British soldiers traveled to tell the colonists that they were going t be taxed.
Intimidation
When the British first arrived in Boston, the colonists were mad. They refused to buy any more product from the British.
The British Fired
"Hold back on firing, they will back off soon."
The colonists were so mad that they would often steal products sold by the British from stores in their community.
"Let's steal everything to show the British how mad we are!"
The colonists were so mad they dared the British to fire. Several of the British were intimidated by the colonists and a few of them fired.
"Fire! We dare you!"
As a result of the British firing, five of the colonists were killed. The British commander commanded his troops not to fire, some did anyway.
"Bang, bang, bang!'
