Over 20,000 youngsters marched from Germany and France to the Mediterranean in 1212. The majority of youngsters are between the ages of 9 and 12.
Gasthaus
Stephen, a shepherd child from France, taught about the Crusade. He incited a large number of youngsters, but French officials prevented many from attending. Nicholas encouraged hundreds of youngsters in Germany to join him on a Crusade.
The children arrived in pairs or small groups. They would go to cities and villages in search of food and refuge. People would give these innocent youngsters anything they want. They didn't have any money or food, and they had no idea where Jerusalem was.
