Today I'm going to be talking about Sports in the 20s. When people hear sports they think basketball, soccer, baseball but no one never thinks track & field. We're going to focus on one specific athlete and that is my grandfather Percy Williams
The 20s was the Golden age for sports but not many people liked track. Matter a fact the big sports were ice hockey, basketball rugby, baseball, lacrosse and football. Track & field didn't get popular until the Olympics.
My grandfather Percy Williams was at Amsterdam in 1928 for the Olympics. He was champion for both 100m and 200m which made him the first Canadian to win two gold medals in athletics.
Looking at my grandfathers success, it's crazy to see how much he inspires kids like me. At just 5'6 20 years old the odds of going into the Olympics were not that high but despite that he did. After that event people definitely took notice.
Now I introduce you with a surprise.. my grandfather Percy Williams!!
Hello everyone!!
