- It's all of the kids first day of school. Peter is the funny kid. He's glad he got a new teacher, because he thinks he can get away with anything like messing around in the bathrooms. But Mr Terupt catches him. And tells him not to. Luke is the smart kid, He is starting on the dollar words project. He breaks the record for most dollar words. Jessica is the new kid. She's very nervous for her first day of school. She carry's a book with her everywhere. Mr. Terupt seems to like her. Anna is the quiet one. She's always quiet Mr Terupt is pulling her out of her shell though, and she likes Mr Terupt for it. Jeffrey is the slacker, he thinks he's no good at school. But I think Mr. Terupt will help him throughout the story. Danielle is the insecure one. She is the biggest in her class. She is always on top of what she eats, and her mother thinks it could be because shes still growing. She is on and off friends with Alexia. Alexia is the popular one. She see's Jessica on the playground and tells her not to be friends with Danielle. Jessica says I thought you were friends. This surprised Alexia but in the end Jessica came into Alexias group and kicked Danielle out of the group.

- The class is doing plant experiments now. They get plants and do a lot of experiments with them. Like watching them grow from their side. Eventually they had to put them in a box with no sunshine. Mr Terupt took Anna into the hallway. She didn't want to put the plant in the box. Eventually Anna agreed too. Then they had to mix up a concoction. Anna was partners with Danielle. Anna was nervous about being partners with her. But their plant was the only one that survived. Luke was partners with Jeffrey and let Luke do whatever he wanted. Lukes plant exploded. A fire alarm went off. and the whole school had to evacuate. Anna befriends Danielle but Alexia kicks Anna out of the group and lets Danielle in. They count grass in the soccer field. While their doing that peter throws a frisbree at Alexia's Tushy. The kids go into the collabrative classroom and Jeffrey really bonds with the kids in there.
