  • IT was the festival of spring.One little boy ran between his father’s legs,brimming over with life and laughter. as he lagged behind,fascinated by the toys in the shops that lined the way

  • He hurried towards his parents, his feet obedient to their call,his eyes still lingering on the receding toys. As he came to wherethey had stopped to wait for him, he could not suppress the desireof his heart, even though he well knew the old, cold stare of refusalin their eyes
  • His father looked at him red-eyed, in his familiar tyrant’s way
  • A SWEET SELLER, HAWKED WITH A GARLAND AND THE CHILD WANTED IT ALL BUT KNOWING HIS PARENTS WOULD REFUSE THOSE THINGS SO MOVED FARTHER. HE ALSO SAW A SNAKE CHAMER PLAYING FLUTE AND BUT AGAIN KNOWING HIS PARENTS WOULD REFUSE TO HEAR THOSE COARSE MUSIC HE WALKED FARTHER.
  • A flower-seller hawked, “A garland of gulmohur, a garland ofgulmohur!
  • A man stood holding a pole with yellow, red, green and purpleballoons flying from it
  • There was no reply. He turned to look at his parents. They werenot there, ahead of him. He turned to look on either side. Theywere not there. He looked behind. There was no sign of them.

  • he turned to look at his parents , they where not there ,a full , deep cry within his dry throat and with a sudden jerk of his body he ran from where he stood , crying in a real fear, "mother, father", tears rolled down from his eyes. His eyes yellow turban came untied and his clothes became muddy.

  • suddendly a man in the surging crowd saw him crying and lifted him up and asked him whose baby are you . the child cried and said I want my mother and father . he cried a loud . The man tried to calm him by taking ti the round bout , to the snake chammer , the flower seller who sells the garlang etc . the man took the child to all the places where he wanted to go . but still he refused all the things the man offered and still was cring and very badly wanting for his mother and fathe
