- Shown in my comic, there is a immigrant doctor who is handing their degree to an immigration agent. You can see the pile of crumpled up degrees at the agent's feet, and the trash can reading "Immigrant Degrees Only". The other doctors in the room who had just went through the same process, and they are not happy about it. This represents the fact that the education that immigrant doctors had in their home country is completely disregarded and put to waste when they are given jobs they are overqualified for in Canada. The board up front in the room reads, "Immigrant Doctor- Taxi Driver Job Applications." this symbolizes how immigrant doctors expect to be practicing their usual occupation in Canada, but are instead given "lower end" jobs. The agent is saying "Welcome to Canada, you will be a contributing member to society.", in an ironic sense, because the doctors could be helping Canada in more important ways with the skills they brought with them to Canada.
