  • The existing leadership was Nelson Mandela of ANC and Shaka of Zulu Inkatha. There was a fight for leadership of the black population that broke out between the ANC and the largely Zulu Inkatha Freedom Party. It ended up having thousands of black South Africans die within 15 months. There were also many white people who did not support de Klerk.
  • There was a fight between ANC and Zulu Inkatha Freedom Party. The fight started happening when de Klerk legalized the ANC and ended up getting many Africans killed while making more whites not supportive of de Klerk. The leader of the ANC was Mandela and the leader of the Zulu Inkatha was Shaka. They kept fighting over land and resources to survive.
  • The protests that happened were the Protest against the apartheid, the 1980’s facing protests at home and abroad, the protests that the ANC had orginized with marches and strikes and then spreading it throughout Soweto and other towns causing it to get the name Soweto uprising. The protests were going around fast and everyone was starting to join in the marches and strikes that were happening throughout the Soweto.
