Max the water drop wondered why he was constantly changing form and moving to very different places. So he wrote everything down that was happening
Suddenly, he started flying, but he was water vapor. He realized this process is called evaporation. Evaporation is when energy heats up water and turns it into water vapor
Max started to cool in the air and he and other fellow water drops mixed with dust particles to form a cloud. This process of cooling and turning back to a water droplet is called condensation.
More, and more, and more water droplets joined Max. The cloud got darker and darker. Suddenly, Max started falling. Down, down, and down max went. This is called precipitation. Precipitation is when water falls from clouds in the atmosphere.
Some of Max's fellow water droplets got sucked up by the plant's roots and traveled up the plant, and then turned to water vapor again. This is called transportation. Some fellow water droplets got sucked up into the soil and became groundwater. Groundwater is water beneath the earth's surface.
Max, however, did not get absorbed by the soil or turned to water vapor again, he floated downstream and out to sea. This is called run-off. Run-off is rainfall that is not absorbed by soil and that travels to the ocean
