Hi I am Herbert Copeland, one of the scientists that helped in the study of the theory of biological kindgdoms.
There are 3 kingdoms: Animal, Protsista, Plantae.
Hmm... What about the bacteria cells. The prokaryotic cells.
Back in 1956, an American Biologist named Herbert Copeland became a part of the process of discovering the cell theory.
Oh so the prokaryotes don't have a kingdom yet. I will classify them as Monera.
Ernst Haeckel classified the cells into 3 kingdoms which are Plantae, Protist, and Animalia. So now herbert Copeland became curious about it.
So Monera kingdom basically is made up of prokaryotes. For example, a blue-greena algae.
With the help of the invention of the microscope, Herbert Copeland was able to differentiate the cells more with just one look.
Monera kindgdom(prokaryotes)
Unicellular organisms(Divided into 4 kingdoms)
Protista kingdom(eukaryotes)
Herbert Copeland finally found it's missing puzzle and finally thought of a name for the kingdom which is monera.
So he started classifying them into the 4 kingdoms that he has proposed.
His conclusion in the classification of cells.
Plantae kingdom(plants)
Animalia kingdom(animals)
