- Odysseus and his men, the few left, sail to Aeaea, home of Circe, to see if she can help them.

- Odysseus directs half of his men to go with Eurylochus to explore Circe's palace, while the other half stays with Odysseus.

- Eurylochus and his platoon see mountain lions and wolves on the floor of her palace, spelled.

- Circe comes down and sang and the men, all but Eurylochus, go to greet her.
- Circe shows the men a plentiful banquet of food, and the men start to drink bewitched wine..
- Circe turns all the men but Eurylochus into pigs and locks them in a pig pen! Eurylochus runs for help!
