- Rikki Tikki is a very Brave mongoose. Rikki Tikki shows his braveness when fighting Nag. Nag and his wife had been planning to take out Rikki's family, but before Nag could get into the bungalow Rikki was already pouncing on Nag. Rikki's showing that he is brave in this situation because he is still a baby mongoose fighting a fully grown Cobra.
- Rikki Tikki is also very clever in the story. Rikki expressed how clever he was when coming up with the plan to distract Nagaina by having Darzee pretend her wing had been broken, so he can go break Nagaina's eggs. Without Rikki Tikki's quick thinking he wouldn't have broke the eggs.
- In the story the family Rikki Tikki is staying with calls him curious. Rikki Tikki is curious because in the story he explores the forest meeting all the animals. But exploring can get you into trouble and thats when Rikki Tikki met Nag and Nagaina.
