- Alexander III was King of Scotland, he became King at the age of 8, he defeated the Norwegians unlike his Father.Alexander died in an accident when he fell off his horse in a storm, down a cliff and broke his neck.
- After Alexander's death, this left Scotland without a direct heir as all of his children had died before him, however this left his grandaughter Margret the Maid of Norway, who was 3 as ruler of Scotland
- Margret the Maid of Norway died at the age of 3 traveling for Norway to Scotland, she was due to marry Edwards I son.
- Due to Scotland not having a King or Queen, people started to fight over who was the rightful ruler, this also included Edward I as he wanted control of Scotland.
- The Scottish War of Independence lasted until 1328 when the Scots won the war.
- Robert the Bruce became King of Scotland in 1328 after winning the war.
