Gemma, look at all these plants. They way they look is all because Photosynthesis
When humans breath they breath out carbon dioxide, which the plant breath in though their stomata. A stomata is a hole on the under-part fo the leaf on a plant. The plant suck the water from the root to help make oxygen, hydrogen atoms and electrons to build carbohydrates. Then a organelle in the plant called Chloroplast is green because of a a chemical called chlorophyll. The chloroplast has to separate the water molecules, but they can't do it by themselves. That is where the sun helps split the molecule, now that is has all it's building blocks to build glucose.
Then glucose turns into cellulose, now that the plant has all the nutrients it can let out oxygen for us to breath. Also some plant create starch from the glucose. Then we digest the starch then a sell in our bodies called mitochondria which break down the glucose from he starch and use that glucose to power it into ATP
